Our last week in India has been a busy one. Our to-do list has slowly been growing smaller and it feels great to check each item off. A big one was going to the dentist! Healthcare in India can be a bit of a mixed-bag, with experiences that can range from exceptionally good, to exceptionally bad. Thankfully our trip on Saturday was amazing. We were hardly surprised after looking at pictures of Dr. Barhat with every dignitary in Delhi posted in the waiting room. It was certainly reassuring to know our teeth were about to be as clean as every ambassador's in Delhi!
Dr. Barhat had a crew of 3 assistants. She used ultrasonic cleaning techniques that far surpassed the metallic scraping back home. Our cleanings were quick and thorough. It was fun to see Lucy's long anticipated curiosity about who the dentist is become a reality. Best part of all, the whole thing set us back a whopping $42. Can't beat that.

On Sunday, we hit the pool deck at 7:30 am and found it to be a great time to swim. Lately, swimming in the afternoon 110 degree heat has been only moderately pleasant - crowded and too hot for Scout! So, prepared with round two of our pancake breakfast, Lucy spent over 2 hours in the diving pool. As her confidence has grown over the past year, her swimming has improved leaps and bounds. And despite her cast, she made a huge milestone today - jumping off the 1 meter diving board by herself. Check out the video!
And I must add (after reviewing the last post) that Lucy enjoyed Hummus on Prunes and Peanut Butter on Kidney Beans for dinner tonight. Gross but it is all we have left in the house. 2 days and counting.....
