Old Delhi

We went on an adventure yesterday into Old Delhi. This was our first trip on the metro, which was surprisingly nice - especially at the station closest to school, which is pictured below.

Honestly it felt like we could have been at a subway station in any city back home. Accept for a few subtle differences - notice the "women only" sign - Amie and our friend Liv had the pleasure of waiting here, while Ted and Drew waited in the general admission area.

The picture above shows the division between the women's car and the men's. As Amie had more space then she needed, I was completely smashed against other random body parts. At each stop the pushing and shoving of people getting off and on was ridiculous.
When we emerged from the Chandhi Chowk station in the heart of Old Delhi, it was like entering a different world. Crowded, hot, loud and smelly. We walked around the maze of streets in Old Delhi, trying to take it all in.
Old Delhi school buses - these provide transport for students at the local primary school.

The spice market.
