4 weeks till departure!

(She says Namaste to our SEA-shipment)
Things were going too smoothly.

The renters who I was Oh-so-confident about...bailed.
Luckily, others love our house almost as much as we do and we found an even better family with NO pets to pee on our floors.

My car is sold! Ted's will be put on the market soon.

Our SEA-shipment is floating its way to India and will arrive sometime late Sept/Oct. It contains mattresses, dishes/pots/pans, bikes, camping/hiking gear, books, etc.

Soon we will prepare our AIR-shipment, which should arrive in Aug and contain linens, coffee, and clothes.

For now we paint the house, hang gutters, haul big rocks and garden. But we also go to Rock concerts, attend weddings, go to Toots for "green" ice cream, play tennis ball golf and visit with friends and family as much as possible.

Daydreaming

We spend most of our time daydreaming about our impending trip. We may even be consumed by it. So it comes as no surprise that we are feeling ahead of the game. We are proud to have tackled what seems to, at this point, be the most stressful departing detail...renting our lovely new home. We secured a lovely family to rent our house for the next two years and we are confident they will be wonderful here. We also sold the scooter which felt like a symbol of our coming of age. That scooter was so much fun, if only I could strap a carseat safely on the back.

More to come. I mean, we still have cars to sell and an entire house full of things that need to be divided into piles for storage vs getting shipped. I will try not to bore you with all the gory details. I know I am still early in this process, this blog will get more interesting as time moves forward.
